Double pane with argon between panes. Two coat LoE coating on one pane of glass.
U-factor .29 (R-value 3.4)
(A high quality, low expense option, we recommend for older homes)
(Triple pane equivalent exceeds Energy Star standards)
Double pane with argon between panes. Outside pane is LoE 272, inside pane is LoE I89.
U-factor .25 (R-value 4)
Double pane with argon between panes. Three coat LoE coating on outside pane of glass. Similar U-factor as LoE 272 but formulated for greater resistance to heat generated by sun. Works well in sun rooms and large glass areas on south side of house.
We offer Triple pane for a more traditional approach to energy efficiency. The main advantage over I89/ LoE272 is sound reduction and slightly improved condensation resistance. With increased cost and weight, not always the best choice for larger unites.
Similar U-factor and R-value to I89.
